எனும் திருக்குறளுக்கு ஏற்ப, அன்பு பிறரிடம் பற்றுள்ளம் கொள்ளச் செய்யும்; அந்த உள்ளம், நட்பு எனும் பெருஞ்சிறப்பை உருவாக்கும் என்ற உயரிய நோக்கில் நடைபோடும் வட தமிழ்ச் சங்கத்தின் தலைவராகப் பொறுப்பேற்று களப் பணியாற்றுவதில் பேர் உவகை அடைகிறேன்.
பல ஆயிரம் மைல்கள் கடந்து இங்கிலாந்து மண்ணில் வாழும் தமிழ் மக்கள் ஒன்று கூடி சங்கம் அமைத்து, அதன் வாயிலாக மக்களை ஒன்றுபடுத்தி மேடை நிகழ்ச்சிகள் நடத்தி மகிழ்ந்தோம். அதன் வழி, உறுப்பினர் சேர்க்கையைப் பெருக்கினோம். இன்று, வடதமிழ்ச் சங்கம் மேன்மையான நிலையை எட்டியிருப்பது, தன்னலம் கருதாதத் தமிழ் போற்றிய தன்னார்வலர்களால் என்றால் அது மிகையாகாது.
நம் வட தமிழ்ச் சங்கம் நடத்தும் ஒவ்வொரு நிகழ்வுக்கும் தம் பெயர் கூட அறிவிக்காமல் உழைத்துத் தமிழர் ஒற்றுமையை வளர்த்த களப் பணியாளர்கள் ஏராளம்.
40 வருட மதிப்புமிக்க வட தமிழ்ச் சங்கத்தின் சமூகப் பணிகளை உளம் ஏற்று, நம் தமிழ் உறவுகளின் சமூகப் பிணைப்பை மேலும் பலமாக்க நாம் புதிய பயணத்தைத் தொடங்கியிருக்கிறோம். இப்பயணம், நம் தமிழ்ச் சமூகத்தின் சங்கமம், ஒத்துழைப்பு, திறன் பகிர்வு மற்றும் சமூக ஈடுபாட்டை மேலும் செழிப்புறச் செய்யும் என உறுதியாக நம்புகிறேன்.
தற்போது பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ள நிர்வாகக் குழு மிகவும் முற்போக்குச் சிந்தனையும், ஆற்றல் மிக்கதாகவும் உள்ளது.
இத்தகைய குழுவுடன் இணைந்து பணிபுரிவதில் நான் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன்.

தீபாவளி நிகழ்ச்சிகள்
நமது 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டின் தீபாவளிக் கொண்டாட்டம் நவம்பர் 14 ஆம் நாள் மான்செஸ்டரில் உள்ள வைதென்ஷா ஃபோரம் (Wythenshawe Forum) அரங்கில் நடைபெறும். பத்து மண்டலங்களுக்கான இசை, நடனம், நாடகப் போட்டிகள் மற்றும் விருந்து நிகழ்ச்சிகள் அன்று நடைபெறும்.
பேச்சுப் போட்டிகள்
வட தமிழ்ச் சங்கம் ஏற்பாட்டிலான பேச்சுப் போட்டிகளை, இந்த ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 5-ஆம் நாள் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளோம். ஐக்கிய முடியரசில் வாழும் தமிழ்ப் பள்ளி மாணாக்கருக்காகத் தொடர்ந்து எட்டாவது ஆண்டாக நமது சங்கத்தால் இந்தப் பேச்சுப் போட்டி நடத்தப்படவிருக்கிறது. நம் சங்கத் துணைத் தலைவர் Dr. தாமோதரன் காமாட்சி அவர்கள் இந்தப் பேச்சுப் போட்டியைப் பொறுப்பேற்று நடத்துகிறார். நீங்கள் வாழும் பகுதியைச் சார்ந்த தமிழ்ப் பள்ளிகளில் பயிலும் மாணவர்களை இந்தப் போட்டிகளில் கலந்துகொள்ளுமாறு ஊக்கம் அளித்திட அன்புடன் வேண்டுகின்றேன்.
தமிழ்ப் புத்தாண்டு இன்னிசை நிகழ்ச்சி:
2027 ஆம் ஆண்டு தமிழ்ப் புத்தாண்டு தின விழாவை ஏப்ரல் மாதத்தில் கொண்டாடுவது என்று தற்காலிகமாக முடிவு செய்துள்ளோம். அந்த விழா நாளில், சென்னையிலிருந்து கலைஞர்கள் வருகைதந்து பங்கு கொள்வர். நம் தமிழ் உறவுகளை மகிழ்விக்கப் பல்வேறு கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகளுக்குத் திட்டம் தீட்டியுள்ளோம்.
நிர்வாக குழு பொதுகூட்டம்
வட தமிழ் சங்கத்தின் நிர்வாக உறுப்பினர்கள் கூட்டம் மே மாதம் 10ஆம் தேதி நடைபெற்றது.
நமது தமிழ்மொழியின் வளத்தையும், தமிழ் உறவுகளின் நலத்தையும் பேணிக்காத்து, தமிழோடு வாழ்வோம்!

In line with this Thirukkural, love makes us care for others; that caring mind creates the great treasure called friendship. With this noble vision, I am deeply honoured and delighted to take charge as the President of the Northern Tamil Association. Guided by this noble philosophy, our Association remains dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships and strengthening the bonds that unite our vibrant community.
Having journeyed thousands of miles to make England our home, our Tamil diaspora has come together to build an Association that serves as a beacon of cultural preservation, community cohesion, and shared celebration. Through our collective dedication, we have organised memorable cultural events, expanded our membership, and created opportunities to celebrate our rich heritage together.
Today, the North Tamil Association stands as a testament to what can be achieved through the unwavering commitment of selfless volunteers. Many have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, often without seeking recognition, to nurture unity and uplift Tamil culture and values. It is through their devoted efforts that we have reached this distinguished milestone.
Building on an outstanding 40-year legacy of community service, we are embarking on a bold new chapter to further strengthen the social fabric of our Tamil community. We are committed to enhancing engagement through greater opportunities for connection, broader frameworks for collaboration, new platforms for skill sharing, and deeper social participation.
Our newly appointed administrative committee combines forward-thinking leadership with dynamic energy and a clear vision for the future. I am very pleased to be working alongside such a dedicated team.

Our annual Deepavali celebration will showcase the richness of Tamil arts and culture, featuring:
- Inter-district music competitions

- A community feast and social gathering
Tamil Speech Competition
Date: TBC
For the eighth consecutive year, our Association will host the Tamil Speech Competition, empowering Tamil school students across the United Kingdom to develop and showcase their language skills. Under the capable leadership of our Vice President, Dr. Damodharan Kamatchi , this competition plays a vital role in nurturing a love for Tamil among the next generation.
We warmly encourage all community members to motivate students in local Tamil schools to take part in this enriching experience.
Tamil New Year Celebration 2027

We are excited to announce plans for our Tamil New Year festival in April, which will feature renowned artists from Chennai and an inspiring line-up of cultural performances celebrating our language, traditions, and community spirit.

Deepavali Kondattam 2026
Deepavali along with 40th Year celebration is planned for Saturday, 14th November at Wythenshawe
Forum Hall, Manchester.
The format would be the same as previous year’s events, regional competitions for children and
adults in various categories. Please book your tickets and participate in the mega Event. Booking details are below
Public Speaking (Pechu potti) Event
NTA “பேச்சுப்போட்டி” is planned on TBC. This will be the eighth year of public speaking competition for Tamil school students in the UK.

Tamil New Year concert
The 2027 Tamil New Year function has been provisionally scheduled for April 2026.
There will be a team of musicians from Tamil Nadu entertaining with their amazing music
